Corinth Hiking/Biking Trail
Starting
at Trailhead Park in Downtown Corinth, the hiking/biking trail will lead
travelers through the historic Corinth area to unique earthworks. There
will be four pull-off trails taking visitors to the earthworks.
Other sites such as the Corinth National Cemetery and Battery Robinett
are included on the trail. This unique trail stretches through Corinth
and into Alcorn County. It is approximately 20 miles with 8 miles of separate
paved trails.
In the future, Corinth and its neighboring Tennessee counties, McNairy and Hardin, will have a trail system interpreting the Corinth-Shiloh Corridor.
The trail combines Heritage Tourism with soft adventure
travel. This is a $2 million project funded through the State of
Mississippi, Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks,
National Recreational Travel Funding Program, City of Corinth, Alcorn
County Board of Supervisors, Siege and Battle of Corinth Commission, and
grant funds from Inter modal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA)
and Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21).
