The Grand Illumination

Developed in partnership between Visit Corinth and National Park Service, this event honors the lives lost in the Siege and Battle of Corinth by lighting up the grounds at the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center.

Pickin’ on the Square

Started in 2003, Pickin’ on the Square has become a tradition in Corinth, MS. Every Thursday at 7:00 p.m., musicians come together around the courthouse to fill the street with songs at this free event. During the winter, the event moves to the Bishop Center on Washington St.

Slugburger Festival

This event spotlights a classic Southern dish— the Slugburger. Centered on this fan-favorite food, the festival features a carnival, music, and The World Slugburger Eating Championship. It lasts for three evenings during the summer.

Christy Burns

Executive Director

Christy was born and raised in Corinth and has developed a love for the area she hopes to share with others. Before joining the Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, she was an accounting manager for local manufacturers and owned a retail gift shop in the historic downtown area. These combined experiences put her in front of visitors, giving her multiple opportunities to praise Corinth and ponder what makes the city great.

Leveraging her business skills and admiration of Corinth, Christy takes a proactive approach to tourism and economic development. Her mindset drives her to think constantly about the future of Corinth and Alcorn County. She holds a TMP (Travel Marketing Professional) certification with the Southeast Tourism Society and is a board member of the Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area. Emily Steen

Brand Manager

Emily is proud to call Corinth her hometown. She is passionate about connecting with prospective visitors online and in person, telling them about the city’s benefits and features. Emily graduated from The University of Alabama and Franklin University, where she studied marketing communication, and she holds a TMP certification through the Southeast Tourism Society.

Outside work, Emily loves spending time with her family and frequently participates in the acclaimed productions at Corinth Theatre-Arts.
